At least 2.00% of active businesses in Greece advertise on Google and on Facebook or Instagram: 20,287 out of 1,013,176, in September 2026. Health businesses come first with 5.19%, energy last with 0.30%, and 257 advertisers have 33.6% of the Google ads.

In Greece's services exports by sector, legal services come first: in 2024 37.9% of their revenue came from clients outside Greece and 23.3% from clients outside the EU. In accounting, 89.0% of revenue from abroad comes from outside the EU, and across the eight sectors foreign clients bring 23.1% of revenue.

In 84,494 sets of 2024 financial statements of Greek companies, the median pre-tax profit margin is 7.34% and the median profit €21,720. The two rankings do not match: the accountant keeps 20.20% and makes €18,946, the wholesaler keeps 4.80% and makes €39,483.

ELSTAT gives quantity and value in adjacent columns. I divided them by species: €0.90 per kg for round sardinella, €50.39 for lobster, €3.96 on average in Greece. The thirteen cheapest species are half the tonnes of the year and one fifth of the money.

The average gross hourly wage in Greek businesses was €15.3 in 2025, 58.2% of the EU average. In real terms it is 4.7% below 2008, it has risen 15.4% since 2020, and in the second quarter of 2026 it rose 1.3% above inflation.

The Greek advance tax payment: is it as unfair as it looks?

I compared the Greek advance corporate tax payment, 80% assessed in July and paid in 8 instalments, with the quarterly system that other countries use, for a Greek private company (IKE) with a profit of €10,000 a month. With steady profit the business keeps €9,680 more in its cash account. It hurts only after a sharp rise: a company that triples its profit for one year pays in July 156% of the tax for that financial year.

Children aged 0-9 in Greece fell 20.2% in a decade, with a fall in 45 of the 46 areas. Teenagers aged 10-19 have not felt it yet. And the market that serves them looks different if you count VAT numbers and different if you count teachers.
